Xiaomi car will run 900 kilometers on one charge

For the first time, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is bringing its own electric car to the market.

In an event held in Beijing on Thursday (March 28), the company started taking pre-orders along with displaying the ‘Standard SU7’, ‘SU7 Pro’ and ‘SU7 Max’ versions of the electric car. Xiaomi sold 50,000 electric cars within 27 minutes of taking pre-orders.

The specialty of the electric cars made by Xiaomi is that they use the e-motor Hyperengine VS. As a result, the cars can run from 700 to 900 kilometers on a single charge depending on the version. Apart from this, it can accelerate from zero to 100 km in just 2.78 seconds.

Xiaomi’s chief executive officer Lei Jun said, “Standard SU7” version of the electric car is priced at 2,15,900 yuan. As a result, the car will be available for 30,000 yuan less than Tesla’s ‘Model 3’ electric car. Apart from this, the prices of ‘SU7 Pro’ and ‘SU7 Max’ versions of the cars are 2 lakh 45 thousand 900 yuan and 2 lakh 99 thousand 900 yuan, respectively.

Standard SU7′ and ‘SU7 Max’ electric cars will be available in the market by the end of April. And at the end of May, the ‘SU7 Pro’ version of the car will be available. Sources: Reuters, CNN
