According to Autocar, Kawasaki’s bookings have been opened across all its dealerships in the country and deliveries of the bike are expected to begin by the end of this month.

Kawasaki Ninja 500 is a great sports bike which is based on a trellis frame. It has a full fairing, clip-on bar and split headlight design, which is similar to other Ninja models. The new Ninja bike is available only in single color option.

What are the features of Kawasaki Ninja 500?

The new Kawasaki Ninja 500 weighs 171 kg, making it slightly heavier than its previously launched competition bikes like the Yamaha R3 and the KTM RC 390. However, it is slightly lighter than the Aprilia RS 457. Despite the weight, the Ninja 500 is loaded with safety features. It has dual-channel ABS, making it an attractive option for safety-conscious riders.

It has a 450cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 45bhp power and 42.6 Nm torque. It has a six-speed gearbox. However, the Ninja 500 lacks some modern features like quickshifter, cornering ABS, traction control or launch control.

The new Kawasaki Ninja 500 competes with several bikes, including:

Yamaha R3: It is a popular sports bike known for its power and style.

Aprilia RS457: This is an updated model with many new features.

KTM RC390: This is a powerful sports bike which is famous for its speed and performance.

The KTM RC390 and Aprilia RS457 have been developed in India, due to which their prices may be lower. The Yamaha R3 and Ninja 500 are sold as CBU (Completely Built Unit) in India, which leads to their slightly higher prices.

The Ninja 500 shares the same parts as the outgoing Ninja 400 and its design closely resembles modern Kawasaki sports bikes like the ZX-6R and the Ninja 7 Hybrid. The variant launched in India is the standard variant, which misses out on some premium features like all-black color and keyless ignition. Instead, it has a negative LCD dash with Bluetooth connectivity.

Despite its premium price tag, the Ninja 500 rivals the Yamaha R3, Aprilia RS 457 and the KTM RC 390.
